Here is Lucy Watwood Registered Dental Nurse (RDN), one of our lovely nurses, receiving a SAAD Assessed Sedation badge ( the first in the country to be given) from Christopher Holden.
All of our RDNs are trained and qualified to assist our dentists in conscious sedation. Conscious sedation is not universally offered in General Dental Practice due to the special qualifications, training and equipment required. Our practice has a special interest in sedation and has done so for many years. Both of our dentists Christopher Holden and Anita Patel can offer a range of sedation options to patients who may be anxious, frightened, phobic or scared of some aspect of dentistry, in some way. Or where a physical problem, such as a gag reflex, may make treatment difficult for them.
If this is something that may benefit you, or someone you know, more information is available on this website, in our practice leaflets or by calling one of our Team 01246 230230.
Congratulations Lucy, and well done in all your hard work in achieving this award.
An absolutely lovely e-mail from a patient yesterday :)
Dear Denise,
I have been meaning to write you a testimonial for some time - so here are my thoughts!
" I have always been a very nervous visitor to the dentist even as a Child. However, for the last 10 years it has been an absolute pleasure since visiting Christopher Holden's practice in Chesterfield. As soon as I arrive I am greeted with a kind smile and warm welcome from Denise on the front desk and the warmth just continues from the start of my visit to when I leave. I don't know why I ever got scared as I actually look forward to it now! Anita and her assistant are so gentle and care about my health, explaining to me what is happening and how I can look after my teeth and gums. Thank you from an ex anxious dentist visitor!"
Kind Regards,
In a recent survey, our patients were asked "How likely is it that you would recommend the dental practice to a friend or a colleague? Please give a score out of 10 where 0= not at all likely and 10 = extremely likely."
The average score given by patients was 9.7. 😁
Thank you so much!
